The last group run is complete and now nothing left but the big day, October 12th 2008.
Run time temperatures were a balmy 40 degrees, which is a good thing since the early forecasts are in and it is looking like race day will be similar conditions. Sorry, no floods or snakes Monica, but at least you will will have your own super hero, "Captain State Farm".
Combine that top with Jason's pretty shorts and I think you're on to something.
After the run our resident short order cook Mike Upham and myself prepared a full on pancake breakfast for the team, COMPLETE with Vermont's finest maple syrup, compliments of Mr. Vermont himself, Steve Spear.
It was nice to be able to share a well earned meal with those who have come so far, soon to culminate with 26.2 more miles and a journey that will be complete in some ways and a beginning in others. I know my heart is very different than it was 5 months ago.
Regardless of the outcome of this coming Sunday, every one of you has "influenced" others, probably in more ways than you will ever know.
Congratulations, and not for finishing a race, but for all that you are.
Lastly I ask that you remember all of the runners in your prayers, and pray for healing and determination in finishing what we started.
